The Tarmac Collective is Central Pennsylvania's local rental car company — based on Linglestown Rd in Harrisburg, with airport pickup at Harrisburg International (MDT). We rent proven, well-kept cars by the day, the week, and the month, and we publish our prices where everyone can see them.
A rental company, not a side hustle
Most cars on the rental apps belong to individuals hosting on the side. We're a company: a real fleet, written policies, GPS-tracked cars, a documented inspection before and after every trip, and one phone number that reaches a person who knows your booking — (717) 500-6636. Over 140 trips in, that structure is the product as much as the cars are.
Why our cars aren't new
We run proven cars, not new ones — on purpose. A brand-new car loses around a fifth of its value in its first year, long before it's worn out. At the big agencies, the renter pays for that depreciation in every rate. We buy well-kept cars at the point where their price finally matches their usefulness — often from local owners who simply don't need them anymore — maintain them properly, and keep them working for years. It keeps prices honest. Nobody renting from us is paying for a showroom. A maintained sedan gets you to Pittsburgh exactly like a brand-new one does — the difference is what you paid for the privilege. It keeps money local. Our cars are bought from local sellers, maintained by local shops, and some are owned by local partners who share in what their car earns. A new-car fleet sends that money to a manufacturer and a finance company. Ours circulates in Central PA. It's easier on the planet. The greenest car is the one that's already built — making a new one takes several tonnes of CO2 before it travels a mile. And while a privately owned car sits parked about 95% of its life, a shared car earns its footprint. We won't pretend a 2016 sedan sips fuel like a new hybrid; the math we believe in is life-cycle math: use the whole life of the machine, maintain it properly, and waste nothing that's already been made.

The fleet
Sedans and SUVs chosen for reliability, not badges — a 7-seat Mitsubishi Outlander, Chevrolet Malibu sedans, a Nissan Rogue, and a Nissan Sentra, with more proven cars joining as we grow. Every car is inspected, cleaned, and photographed before every trip.
Local, on purpose
The Tarmac Collective is operated by The Tarmac Collective LLC, a Kiyani Consulting Inc company, founded and run in Harrisburg, PA. When you rent from us, you're not feeding a national chain's depreciation schedule — you're keeping a good car working, a local shop busy, and your money in the community you drove through.
